Eszter Susán is a doctoral student at New York University in the Education and Jewish Studies Program. Her research focuses on the lived experience of Jews in Hungary between 1968-1988 with special focus on grass roots alternative communities. Eszter studied Aesthetics and German Literature at ELTE University in Budapest and spent three years in Berlin researching Holocaust education and commemoration. She has also been actively involved in rebuilding Jewish life in Hungary since 2001 through MAROM where she was cofounder. Eszter spent a year at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York, where she studied Jewish female biographic narratives and participated in the institute's educational programming. Currently she is course assistant and adjunct instructor at NYU Steinhardt School for Culture, Education and Human Development.
