The Belle from Gaza or The Beauty of Gaza – French Documentary Film and discussion

The film provides insight into the lives of Palestinian transgender individuals who flee to Tel Aviv in search of a freer life. Contradictory stories and destinies from the entrance halls of Hatnufa Street.
Language: Arabic, Hebrew and English with English subtitles, 76 minutes

Participants in the post-screening discussion:
⇨ Adél Ónodi – Actress. As a transgender woman, she had no artistic opportunities in Hungary, so in 2020 she moved to Berlin to pursue an acting career. She has appeared in Netflix, RTL2, and ZDF film productions in transgender and cisgender female roles.
⇨ Tamás Büchler – European Programmes Coordinator at the Minority Rights Group. Previously worked for CEJI – A Jewish Contribution to an Inclusive Europe. Before that, he was the Director of the Israeli Cultural Institute in Budapest. He also worked at the Jewish Agency’s Global Leadership Institute, where he served as the director of the Minyanim program. He holds an M.A. in Law and has completed teacher training in Jewish Studies. He completed the University of Haifa’s Peace and Conflict Studies program and UPenn’s Social Impact Strategies Program.
