Is there progressive contemporary Jewish art and culture in Hungary today? If so, what are its characteristics, who are its representatives, and where are they going?

In 2018, MAROM Budapest will launch a new initiative that will provide micro-grants through tenders to create new, “generative” projects. One of its stops is the Hanukkah Art Festival, held in December 2018, which provided a framework for the following programs:

Time: 07/12/2018 17: 00-03: 00 and 08.12.2018 15: 00-23: 00

Location: Auróra Community House 1084 Budapest Auróra u. 11

Community Reading Theater - Szabolcs KissPál, Klára Cserne, Katalin Fenyves
What is the nature of a community of memory? Who, why, and how do you draw your boundaries?
How did this happen 100 years ago, and are the lessons of what happened then relevant today? During the workshop, in addition to a short, intense, yet liberated concentration, we will interpret and bring to life a short drama entitled The Eighth Flame (Lajos Szabolcsi, 1925) together with the tools of the reading theater. Common thinking, play, lesson, action. Common catharsis!
